Reid Maxwell - SILVER in Paris 2024!!

 

After an amazing week in Paris and knocking on the door in several of his events this week, Reid Maxwell put together the swims of his lifetime today in Paris, earning a Silver Medal at the Paralympics in Paris 2024!

 

In the preliminaries of the Men's S8 400 Freestyle, Reid shocked many of his competitors by winning his heat and advancing to the final with the fastest time. In the Final on Wednesday night Reid dropped another 2 seconds from his poll position time and pushed the field to its limit, finishing just 0.67 seconds behind the Gold and just 0.10 seconds ahead of Bronze. Reid Maxwell finished the 400 Freestyle in a time of 4:23.90 for a SILVER medal at the Paralympic Games!

 

Reid is competing on his first Senior National team here at the Paralympics and arrived in Paris at just 16 years of age. His birthday was also during the games, so happy birthday and a huge congratulations from everyone back home in Edmonton!!
