Canadian Summer Nationals

Hi all

We want to move ahead to plan for Summer Nationals. It will be held in Toronto again this year from 24-30th July.

I have tentative team travel bookings at a hotel in Toronto and we are also exploring the option of getting rooms at the University dorms across the road from the pool. Many teams stayed there at Trials and felt it was a good option as the meals were healthy and the swimmers could easily walk to and from the pool as needed. 

Whilst a number of swimmers may still be looking for qualifying times please indicate if you would intend to compete should you make your cuts.

Please make sure to indicate if you would want team travel.

The other discussion point is the Open Water component. The last evening of finals is the 29th July and the Open Water is held the next morning at 7am at Welland Lake (2 hour drive from Tpasc). Logistically this may be a challenge but if people are focused on that then we can explore options. If you might write in the notes section of your declaration whether you would like to race the Open Water we would appreciate it.

Please note there has been a change in qualifying rules. This year swimmers who qualify in one distance of a stroke are eligible to compete in all distances of that event. For example if you have the 100m back time you are able to also compete in the 50 and 200 back. Please see the attached meet package.

We would appreciate if you might declare for this meet as soon as possible so we can move forward with Team Travel arrangements and flights.
