Phoenix Summer Invitational

The Phoenix Summer Invitational is in Phoenix, AZ and takes place Jun 10-13 (competition is Fri-Mon). Travel will be from Wed Jun 8 through Tue Jun 14 (flight options arrive late Wed or Thu PM, so for performance reasons we will depart on Wednesday). 

This is an exciting travel opportunity for performance group swimmers; one of 3 similar meets within a short time frame:

1. Mel Zajac Jr, Vancouver, Jun 3-5: This is the Sr National Tier 1 / top of Tier 2 option with fairly fast qualifying standards. Swimmers must be in the Sr National group to attend this meet.
2. Cascade Speed International, Calgary, June 3-5: This is a full performance group meet in Calgary that will serve to catch any swimmers who are unable to make the Vancouver or Phoenix trips. There are still qualifying standards on this meet, so please check with your coach before signing up that you are qualified to attend. 
3. Phoenix Summer Invitational, Phoenix: This is a full performance group meet in Phoenix, AZ with easier qualifying times than the meets in Calgary and Vancouver. The level of competition is excellent for a wide range of performance levels making it an ideal travel meet for a large squad. Please ensure you can meet international travel requirements before signing up. 

Team Travel option: When you sign up, please add in the notes area whether you wish to participate in Team Travel or Travel on your own. Team Travel is an all-in only option and participants will share the team travel costs. Non-team travel swimmers will only share the costs of coach travel and accommodation, but will not pay for chaperone or other costs related to Team Travel. 

As with all travel meet sign ups, any costs borne by the club on your behalf after the sign up deadline will be charged to your account (unless a refund from the source of a cost is still possible). If you withdraw from an event after the sign up deadline, the club will do what it can to recover charges and/or get credit back (ie from an airline) and any costs related to the event that are not recovered will be your responsibility. 

A pre-meet deposit will be added prior to June 1, with a final charge issued after all expenses for the event are reconciled. 

Team Travel cost: The estimated cost for Team Travel is approximately $2000-2200 per swimmer.

At the moment, flights are as low as $425+tax&fees (~$600) roundtrip, however when a group books 10+ tickets we usually buy out all of the cheap rate tickets and then the cost rises. Expect the flight cost may rise $100-200 depending on the size of the group. Hotel will come out to approximately $100 per day per swimmer after exchange rate so with 6 nights that comes to approximately $600 per swimmer. Transportation on site ($50-100), food ($50/day), and staff/chaperone expenses ($400-600) make up the remainder of the estimate. 

This is a rough estimate and not a quote. Since we customize the booking based on sign ups costs may change. And, since the number of people attending affects the share of staff and chaperone costs, those are also factors we cannot predict until closer to the meet.
