The Freeze or Fry LC Swim Meet is a 2-day Timed Final event hosted by the Red Deer Catalina Swim Club in Red Deer, Alberta, on June 21st and 22nd, 2025. This is a unique opportunity for swimmers to race in a long-course pool at one of Alberta’s few outdoor 50m facilities.
As the name suggests, the meet will proceed regardless of weather conditions (safety protocols will be followed), so please plan accordingly. The meet is held at an outdoor pool, swimmers who have attended this meet will tell you this unforgettable experience whether they swam in the cold or the scorching heat.This is not a team travel meet, so families will be responsible for their own travel and accommodations. Early June can be a great time for camping if the weather allows! Finalized timelines will be shared closer to the event.
This year 50's, 100's, 200's and even 400 FREE will be offered at the event.
Meet packages are for reference only. Only Keyano's designated entry coordinator may contact a host club, if you have questions about your swim meet please reach out to your coach first or to Coach Matt if your coach is unavailable.

Swimmers eligible: Gold, Junior & Senior Prov (those not qualified for Festival or Provincial Trials)
**There are only 75 spots available for this popular end-of-year meet, so please be sure to sign up as soon as possible if you plan on attending.

The Best Western Plus Suites in Red Deer is offering a special rate of $129/night plus taxes. To book, please call the hotel directly and select the 'front desk' option on the recording. We recommend booking soon, as the hotel tends to sell out quickly.
Meet Entry Fees: $15
*Coaches will enter athletes who have signed up and all entry fees will be charged monthly through Keyano's billing system.
Entry Limit: 5 events (2 per session) 400 free (Friday PM is a bonus swim does not count towards 5 events)
