Olympic & Paralympic Trials - DAY 7 Recap

Maxwell's 6th medal and Keyano has 6 more top-20 swims on Final Day!
 
Reid Maxwell battled to one last medal on the final day of the Canadian Trials and 4 more Keyano swimmers joined him with top 20-ranked swims. 
 
Keyano's team performance at these Canadian Trials was amongst the top in the country. 26 total top-20 rankings, 9 total top-10 rankings, and a whopping 8 medals from our two top swimming stars. We are incredibly proud of all 16 Keyano swimmers who competed - this is an event where just qualifying puts you amongst the best swimmers in the world and our club showed not only to be a big player in numbers but also in quality. Congratulations, Bears!

On to the day's Keyano recap:
 
Men's 50 Free Para
Reid Maxwell finished off the weekend with one last medal in the shortest of all the swimming events. Reid finished with a time of 28.26 for a  Bronze Medal !   
 
Women's 50 Free
Christey Liang swam a personal best and tied for 2nd in the B Final with a time of 26.02 for 12th place! Teagan Vander Leek was just over her best in the preliminaries and swam a 26.76 for 45th place. 
 
Men's 100 Fly
Jack Hayhoe had a great preliminaries matching his personal best to qualify for the B Final and finished the Final in a time of 55.40 for 20th place. 
 
Women's 200 IM
Eleaunah Phillips had one of the biggest programs of all of Keyano's swimmers and finished up her last of the weekend with another swim in the Junior Finals. El finished in a time of 2:22.16 for the 13th-placed Junior. 
 
Men's 200 IM
Cohen Chan swam a best time and improved his ranking with a time of 2:12.03 for the 16th-placed Junior. 
 
Men's 1500 Free
Zackary Bowie became the 4th different Keyano swimmer with a top-10 performance in the Junior final with a time of 16:21.00 for the 10th-placed junior. Andrew Chilton was also equal to his previous best and finished in a time of 16:30.28 for the 21st-placed Junior.
